KEVIN A. KELLEHER has been serving the health insurance and financial benefit needs of regional businesses for over 34 years. As a lifelong insurance professional, Mr. Kelleher has a specialized knowledge that is difficult to find in today’s marketplace. He has worked in almost all industry situations, from the largest of corporations to owning of his own company, which makes him uniquely qualified to appreciate and understand the challenges facing today’s business owners when it comes to providing generous and affordable employee benefits.
After graduating from Villanova University, Mr. Kelleher began his career in 1980 with The Travelers Insurance Company. He also was an agent for the Equitable Life Insurance Company with Karr-Barth Associates in Philadelphia specializing in estate and business continuation planning, before founding his own agency, Kelleher Associates, Inc., in 1986.
With the start of his own company, Mr. Kelleher began to specialize in employee benefits and group health insurance. Kelleher Associates grew and prospered until 2002, when First Union Bank offered to purchase the agency. Mr. Kelleher accepted this offer and soon merged his business into the bank’s brokerage firm. Through First Union, he soon found himself as an employee of Wachovia Bank, and then finally Wells Fargo.
In 2010, Mr. Kelleher founded Kelleher Benefits Group in order to address the uncertain and complexity of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The intricacies of complying with ACA and effectively managing employee benefit costs have created significant challenges for businesses. Kelleher Benefits Group specializes in providing creative solutions for employers in addressing these difficulties.
In 2016, Kelleher Benefits Group became affiliated with Captive Planning Associates to augment Captive Planning’s employee benefits service offerings. Kevin Kelleher currently serves as Vice President of Employee Benefits at Captive Planning Associates.
Mr. Kelleher currently holds a New Jersey Resident Insurance License and Nonresident Licenses in 15 states. He holds Securities Licenses, Series 6 and 63 with National Planning Corporation in California as his broker dealer. He received his LUTCF designation from the American College in Bryn Mawr, PA. and is completing his certifications for CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter), RHU (Registered Health Underwriter), and CEBS (Certified Employee Benefit Specialist). He is a member of the National Association of Health Underwriters and the New Jersey Society of Financial Professionals.
