JOHN R. CAPASSO, CPA, CGMA, PFS is President & Chief Executive Officer of Captive Planning Associates, LLC., a firm he founded, located in Marlton, New Jersey, specializing in risk management and alternative risk solutions. Captive Planning manages a variety of captive structures insuring an assortment of risks including workers’ compensation, professional liability, medical malpractice, commercial auto liability, enterprise risks and employee benefits.

Mr. Capasso is a Member Manager of Captive Planning Resources, LLC, a holding company for various captive insurance companies. John is also a Principal of CapCare, a provider of healthcare benefits solutions to businesses and organizations that self-fund their employee benefits, seeking alternatives to the traditional health insurance marketplace.

Mr. Capasso is a member of, and serves as a senior advisor with Hanover Stone Partners, LLC, a network of individuals and firms specializing in risk consulting and risk management services on a global scale.

Mr. Capasso was formerly a Senior Director with Alvarez and Marsal Insurance Advisory Services, LLC in New York where he headed the captive solutions group for the firm. A&M is a large, multi-national consulting firm where Mr. Capasso led business development efforts and oversaw a staff of professionals providing alternative risk management consulting services, captive formation, and captive management services.

Prior to his involvement in alternative risk management, Mr. Capasso founded Capital Planning Associates, Inc., a NJ-based Registered Investment Advisory and Consulting Firm which primarily focused on management consulting, investment banking and wealth management services for mid-market and small-cap firms seeking to raise capital and/or go public.

Throughout John’s thirty-plus year career, he has held positions in a variety of industries including; public accounting, investment banking, risk management, health care, financial services and investment management.

Mr. Capasso is a Certified Public Accountant, earned the Chartered Global Management Accountant and Personal Financial Specialist designations, is FINRA Series 7, 63, and 65 licensed, and holds licenses for life and health insurance. He is a member the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New York State Society of CPA’s, the Captive Insurance Companies Association, the Self-Insurance Institute of America where he serves on the captive and ERM committees, and the Delaware Captive Insurance Association where he serves on the board of directors and its legislative committee.
